Barbara Dabrowski
West Vancouver, British Columbia
Barbara Dabrowski's love of painting was interrupted by a 30 year career in Environmental engineering and Sustainability. Her work is therefore inspired by the strain on nature brought on by the reality of the human and built environment. Barbara enjoys interpreting photographs from her travels, local nature and flowers in her garden in the watercolor medium. She prefers honey-based Sennelier watercolors for their smooth dispersion quality and paints on fine French Arches or Italian Fabriano Artistico papers.
Barbara signs off as Basia (her Polish name) and is searchable on social media as Lemon Daquise ( a misspelt moniker for a cake she (occasionally but very deliciously) bakes on special occasions).

Watercolor's unpredictable diffusivity, the act of mixing color with water to create a pleasing but often unexpected result is always a satisfying fervor.
