Karyn Orry
Kelowna, British Columbia
Karyn works in acrylics, in a semi-abstract style and takes her inspiration from the Group of Seven artists. She paints local wildlife, oceans and landscapes, building a sequence of shapes, patterns and colour. The intention is to draw the viewer into the painting, by creating a bold yet whimsical wonderland.
After studying art and textile design at college in the North of England, Karyn took a break to focus on a graphic design and print career. Since moving to Canada in 2017 she felt so inspired by the abundance of West Coast and First Nations art, she resumed her creative passion.
