Jorn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and grew up in southern Ontario outside Toronto. He moved to Vancouver in the early seventies with the dream of becoming an artist. He spent most of the 70’s and 80’s painting in his Yaletown studio over the winter and heading out into the wilderness in the spring to go tree planting. In those days he painted large expressionist pieces in oil. Five years ago he discovered watercolour and now enjoys painting sketches of daily life and local scenes. His winters are spent at his home in East Vancouver and summers at his family cottage on Mayne Island.
