Susan has felt the need to create art in one form or another from childhood onwards. Her love of drawing has ultimately led her to work exclusively in soft pastels. She is excited by the expressive potential of this luscious medium. Pastels allow her to achieve rich colour layering and fine details in her realistic portraits of botanical subjects and wildlife.
Susan is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA), and a member of Pastel Artists Canada. She is a member of the Side Door Studio artist cooperative, and a resident artist at The Old School House in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.
