Sandra Murphy, a graduate of the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, ON, is a realist oil painter painting mostly still lifes and florals. She works primarily from life, arranging compositions on a stand next to her easel, then lighting them so as to create interesting shadow patterns. Her paintings feature antique or vintage items, children's toys, old tools, common household items, food, wine or fresh flowers.

Murphy has participated in many Canadian and U.S. juried art shows, won numerous awards and had her work published in Plein Air Magazine, American Art Collector, Southwest Art and Fine Art Connoisseur. Her work is in collections in Canada, the U.S. and Japan.
