Aleksandra Kalinic is an oil painter. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, she holds a Master’s degree from the University of Arts in Belgrade and has exhibited her work in Canada and internationally. Her paintings begin with an impression—a quality of light, a fleeting moment, a person, or a place. Guided by curiosity and intuition, she seeks to express the essence of an experience rather than describe every detail. She explores light, atmosphere, and memory through expressive brushwork, subtle colour relationships, and simplified forms. Her subjects include harbours, waterscapes, old towns, landscapes, and portraits. Through her work, she reflects on the connection between what is seen, what is felt, and what remains after the moment has passed.
