Cindy Johnston AFCA
Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Cindy Johnston began her career as an artist in 1995, as a result of a painting class given to her as a Christmas gift from her mother, who was also an artist. Although she began with watercolor, the bold colors of acrylics mixed with collage became her medium of choice. She creates abstracted landscapes and people, and is best known for her crows with personality. Her latest series examines the abstracted human form with bold colors and textures, and a story that leads the viewer to wonder about each piece.
I translate moods and emotions into images to grab the viewer's attention, and leave them thinking of the artwork from that time forward.
