I am inspired by the mystery and beauty of our world. My paintings celebrate color, form, and texture and dwell on the relationship between lights, shadows, and overall atmosphere. Rugged mountains, ominous clouds, level lands, people, animals, ancient buildings, flowing waters in rivers and streams, city blocks, polished steel, abundant glass, marble flooring they all become players in my compositions.
I work mostly in water and acrylic colours. One gives me the power of multiple washes and the other power of glazes over thick impasto. Each medium offers a distinct avenue to explore and express the nuances of my subjects. I revel in the freedom to experiment with different techniques, striving to create pieces that resonate with my vision.
