Leo Cunanan is a multidisciplinary Filipino Canadian artist whose work explores cultural identity, memory, and community. After immigrating to Canada from the Philippines in 1972, he developed a distinctive artistic practice spanning oil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and digital media. Mentored by renowned Filipino artist SYM Mendoza, Leo creates works that celebrate heritage and human connection. He is President of the Dimasalang III International Artist Group and an Exhibiting Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. His work has been exhibited widely and recognized with multiple arts awards. Beyond visual art, Leo is a SOCAN member and composer with two original music albums. Through his art and community leadership, he continues to foster cultural understanding, creativity, and meaningful community engagement.
