Leanne M Christie is a contemporary urban oil painter. Christie's powerful brushwork and her intentional use of colour; reduces, abbreviates, and communicates the essence of her familiar and unusual subjects. Christie's work engages the viewer to reinterpret the shared experience of the transitory spaces of the city, where the stories of our lives are woven. Christie paints full time in her Vancouver studio and her evocative and masterful work is kindled by her commute to and from her home in Coquitlam. An engraved line on the landscape that Christie intentionally experiences through driving, transit, cycling, and walking.
