Christine Camilleri's paintings are known for their bold colours, energetic marks and strong design. She works in oils, pastels and acrylics and paints sea, landscapes and wildlife.
She is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, a Master Circle member of International Association of Pastel Societies and an Eminent Pastellist with Pastel Artists Canada. She has received over a dozen awards, had paintings exhibited internationally and was a finalist for her bison painting "Summer Pastures" in The Artist's Magazine's 26th Annual Art Competition. In December 2016 she was featured in a Pastel Journal article, “Artists to Watch”.
She enjoys teaching and has recently discovered the joy of plein aire painting. "Creating art is my happy place."
I believe that artists are their happiest when surrounded by other people who appreciate art. We belong to a select group who express and record our thoughts, feelings, insights. We share and communicate across space and time. To me art is the portal to the richness of being human.
