Jane Appleby

Jane Appleby paints the expression of the landscape in a vibrant lyrical style in oils, acrylics and watercolours.
Her love of painting started at a young age inspired by her architect father and esthetician mother.
Along with taking numerous workshops over the 30 years Jane has been painting, she obtained a Biology Degree from Simon Fraser University and a Fine Arts Techniques Certificate from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
She is the author of two inspirational books on painting: Between Cottages (with Passionate Outdoor Painters artwork) and The Purposeful Brush (art and words for artists).
Jane has received an Award of Excellence from the Federation (Abstract Show), and her

I am inspired by the way light moves along landscape forms and within my heart. The dynamic strokes that play out present themselves in a lyrical way as I express the visual music I feel. Whether Plein Air or abstract, my paintings offer heartfelt movements of the colour to enjoy.
