About the Artwork
The flowers in my painting were the vehicle I used to focus the viewer not only on looking at and responding to the flowers but also on looking at and responding to the lace-like shadows: both possessing their own beauty. Looking down at the variety of shapes, colours, and intensities of the shadow/object relationships may cause the viewer to look up at the world with fresh eyes.
