At this time in our county's history we are starting to unearth a terrible tragedy. This painting is my tribute to all the little ones who suffered in the Residential schools across Canada and the USA. Many years of torture and abuse by the hands of religious zealots in the name of civilizing our indigenous people. I was thinking of the small children who tried to escape these horrendous circumstances by fleeing to the woods in an attempt to get home. Only to be taken by the weather or returned by authorities.
