Commonly, fruit arrangements will be overlapped for a painting but I chose to let the pears stand alone, featuring their differences but connected them through the use of shadows and directions of the stems and reflections. to show the age of this antique box, I layered paint with a palette knife and scraped and pulled paint off to reveal the underlayers. Layers of glazing and then final detail work with a small brush, created these ripe and beautiful fruits.
