About the Artwork

Dreaming
Listening in silence
heart connects with heart. We learn
to embrace our dream.

Rêvant
Tout seul, écoutant
nos rêves nous dirigent vers Dieu,
la source du bonheur.
Ps 8 :3-4

Ocean shorelines carry the mystery of the ages. Stand still and listen to the heart’s desire, lovingly inspired by God.

La mer me manque. J’aime les odeurs, les sons, le sens d’éternité. Les rêves du cœur sont plus proches là.

Karen Blanchet

Edmonton, Alberta

Karen attended Julian Ashton Art School before finishing an Honours French Degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and a Professional A Teaching Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2016 she helped organize the collective “Devenir”. Her work forms part of collections internationally.

"We live in a fractured world. This chaos is evident in my work. In between the rivulets of paint and the textural accidents I choose colours and forms to suggest a landscape where beauty continues to reign. She is essential to the survival of humanity."
