Not For Sale
Many of these everyday items could still used today but this "still life" is a throw back to my visits as a child, to our local General Store called "Tulley's" back in the 1960's. Situated within a small village, they seemed to sell every possible item that one would need. I loved they way the light hit the items in a somewhat chiaroscuro way. The lantern especially disappears into the background but the light dances across the glass making it still visible. These still life paintings are extremely meditative in every way and such a joy to paint!
