About the Artwork
The piece is a self-portrait during my recovery from COVID-19. The collage pieces express feelings of coming apart and being reassembled as I emerged from the period of illness. The colours express both a muting of energy and a sense of hope re-emerging. Like much of my work, a sense of ambient light is blended with non-representational elements and expressive colour.
