This painting is about those oppressed and tortured women who restored themselves after suffering calamity or apparent annihilation like Phoenix, which is a mythical sacred bird that symbolizes rebirth, immortality and renewal. Like a Phoenix they rose from the ashes and brought hope, renewal and new beginnings.
