I adore colour and have a tendency to fill the substrate immediately. With this piece, my resolve was to go back to the principles of watercolours, holding onto the white space and maintaining simplicity. "Chrysalis Rising" contains my love of symbols, texture and colour, however has been approached with a more subtle voice and poignancy to evoke the intent of the painting.
