About the Artwork
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, located on the Outerbanks of North Carolina stands at 162’ tall. Constructed in 1872, the bright red brick was an intentional design to ensure this lighthouse stood out from all other Outerbank lighthouses. For the adventurous, the 220 steps inside the lighthouse may be climbed, with a rewarding view of the Currituck sound and the Atlantic Ocean.
