This painting was inspired by a grove of Garry oaks near my home. I had passed these oaks most mornings walking my dog and had never really found them to be particularily interesting. But on this morning the mist created layers of colour, light and shadow that made me take notice so I snapped some photos (which,to be honest, really didn't capture the moment at all) with the thought of creating a painting of the scene. It was then left up to my imagination to fill in the blanks to recreate that moment in time
