This still life explores transition through the image of grapefruit held within a metal basket, illuminated so that its shadow expands beyond its physical form. The organic curves of the fruit contrast with the rigid structure surrounding it, creating a quiet tension between growth and containment. The lighting extends the basket's grid into shadow, suggesting that moments of change reach beyond what is immediately visible. Suspended between light and darkness, softness and steel, the grapefruit becomes a metaphor for the in-between state - protected yet confined, stable yet shifting.
