For the Time Being illustrates two ways of thinking about time - how we measure it, and how we perceive it. The measurement is shown by a working clockwork that steadily measures time in the way humans have constructed it - in 12-hour chunks that continue to pass day after day and year after year. The numbers and wild abstract pattern speak to how we perceive time in a way less structure time. Time seems to drag when we’re bored, fly when we’re having fun and stop when we suffer a trauma, but the clock tells a much more reliable tale. The question remains - which way of thinking about time is more relevant to the human condition in 2026?
