I created this painting after a trip to Turkey, inspired by the magical landscape of Cappadocia-known for its otherworldly fairy chimneys, dramatic terrain, and rich history. What moved me most were the wishing trees, powerful symbols of hope and good fortune. These trees are traditionally adorned with colorful ribbons and strips of cloth, often bearing handwritten wishes. In this piece, I wanted to capture the quiet optimism and spiritual resonance of these trees, reflecting the human desire to dream, hope, and connect with place and tradition.
