It is the best of two worlds... painting and fishing. Both are relaxing and both have an air of excitement for different reasons. This was a spot where I happened to land a Rainbow Trout but because we were trolling I was able to see it time and time again etching the rock formations into my mind, wondering if anything hid in the deep crevices. I wanted to capture the slopes where it looked like the rocks that had been there gave way and the colour of the water and the way that the sun kissed the grass. How could trees live on such a rock shelf? Did a bear ever go there for a drink? Questions... the stillness of the world right at this moment makes one ponder...until the next bite.
