Mixed Media Concept:
Starting with a base of textural layers and translucent colours, my acrylic paints create abstract impressions of the natural landscape - sea, sky, and forest.  Atop these backgrounds, I transfer my photographic images of birds & trees.
In the encounter between these distinct mediums, my art marks a fresh approach to landscape portraiture. This combination of techniques reframes the way we imagine scenery, playing with our expectations. Reflecting on the freedom of birds in flight, I love the idea of removing birds from the everyday and placing them in the beautiful, abstract backgrounds I create for them.
