About the Artwork
I am an ally for diversity. I stand beside my LGBTQ friends and family. I am fiercely proud of my 2 beautiful Indigenous children and my multicultural extended family. I have been a social advocate for my entire adult life and was a Ministry social worker and Community Living worker for over 32 years. In the current divisive political climate, I feel it is essential to not only portray my physical features but also to reveal my core values. It is no coincidence that I covered by portrait with a rainbow of glass hearts. It is diversity that brings sparkle, colour and love into my world.
