About the Artwork
This painting is from a series portraying 13 year old girls just as they are leaving that state of girlish innocence and before a more conscious "knowing". In this liminal state they are "betwixt and between", they can be pensive, unpredictable and moody but also focused and powerful. I wish to show a variety of moments within this wide gamut of emotions.
