This piece was created at my early art journey. I love coffee and reading, especially when I want to have my alone time. Therefore, I decided to create a piece in which I was sitting at the wooden table with a cup of coffee and a few old books, looking over the window. In this painting, I used cool and dark colors for the cover of the antique books but a warmer tone for the papers. For the coffee cup and plate, I chose a more rusting tone - greyish purple to complement the overall composition of the painting. You may also notice through the window, there was a thin pile of snow setting on the street which tells this painting was created in the winter. Does it give you a "Solitude" feel?
