Going through extensive cancer treatments I felt exposed deep down inside my body. This painting was a response to these emotions using the exposed tree roots and broken ground as a metaphor for my broken body. I explore lines and mark making to both define forms and disrupt them. Flamboyant colours bring me joy and hope when it’s so desperately needed along my advanced cancer journey.
