I love exploring how line and mark making can both define and disrupt forms. Flowers inspire me to explore abstracting their forms and colours, and as they’re so fleeting , they remind us to live in the moment. Beauty lasts throughout all stages of life and these antique roses are still beautiful as they dry. Their soft colours and intricate shapes inspired me to create my ‘Antique Roses’ series. Creating my paintings helps me to deal with the emotions and physical challenges of living with advanced cancer and other chronic illnesses.
