Moonlight shines down on an old Atlantic port and a variety of 19th century vessels. The ‘brig’ in the centre of the picture awaits the tide before departing, as a boat rows a last minute arriving passenger to the vessel. One can only imagine a story here. I have always been inspired by marine art and find it a strong genre to represent the ever changing element of water, whether it be the sea, lakes or rivers.
