This highly gestural painting draws inspiration from the intensity and rhythm of the jazz composition “Whiplash.”
Along side the music I feel it captures the visceral sensation of the emotional whiplash many of us our feeling, shaped by the weight of current political events. Moving between beauty and unease it mirrors the abrupt shifts in both the musical piece and the tensions and complexity of remaining grounded in our everyday life amid constantly shifting stability.
