Waterfalls and cool pools of water remind me of summer in BC. In the Okanagan where this was painted, Angel falls sits under a canopy of trees giving visitors reprieve from the penetrating heat. This painting was created in layers with glazes that allow the viewer to see into the water. The waterfall creates a rush of water and coolness while a ray of sunlight breaks through the dense cover of the trees.
The cool intense colors reflect the coolness and depth of shade that I experienced while visiting.
