About the Artwork
A major tributary of the Columbia, the Snake crosses southern Idaho, turns north and meets the Columbia in Washington. If you are driving across the north of the US, you should see this river. The first Europeans to describe the Snake river were Lewis and Clark. The river got its name from indigenous people who used a waving motion of the hand to describe it.
