C$2,000
This square piece depicting the life cycle of a rose is painted in oil with highlights of gold, copper, and silver acrylic on a collage of patterned Japanese Chiyogami papers, permanently mounted on a wood panel. The composition is unified by the geometric collage loosely based on the Fibonacci sequence, which is interesting when used as a background for the more freely formed roses. Edges of this gallery panel are painted with antique gold acrylic.

"I try to preserve the beauty of the natural world in my paintings, stopping to pay close attention to what others miss or dismiss in their urgency to get somewhere else."
