Kathryn Gabinet-Kroo
Hampstead, Quebec
Kathryn Gabinet-Kroo is originally from the Pacific Northwest and grew up reveling in Oregon’s flowers, trees, beaches and mountains. After university, she studied black-and-white photography in Boston and then moved to Montreal. There, she began to experiment with watercolours and later with oils, which opened her up to colour.
"I try to preserve the beauty of the natural world in my paintings, stopping to pay close attention to what others miss or dismiss in their urgency to get somewhere else."
