Drive east on Trans Canada from Calgary to small town of Brooks, then north to the park. Go for a walk in the valleys, carved over millions by inland seas. Become lost. These sediments have been swarmed by Geologists and Paleontologists; every layer has been dated many times. They were deposited in Mesozoic times, 70-80 million years ago. The fossils sometimes exposed are the age of the layer of sediment. Go to Drumheller [one hour drive] spend an afternoon in the Tyrell museum. Read "Deep Alberta", by John Acorn. You can buy a paperback in the museum store.
