A playful interpretation of a fish. This piece evolved from a simple idea that led to an intuitive transformation of porcelain, ceramic stains and acrylic paint into this rainbow-coloured fish. It is mounted onto a soapstone base. Its title ‘Aru’ is derived from one of the species of rainbow fish, characterized by their vibrant captivating colours. The Aru is also known as the Painted Fish.
Rainbows remind me of the brightness after a storm so I hope this piece will also bring some brightness to those that view it.
