About the Artwork
A cardboard mat was collaged on a stretched canvas and a "window" was cut and removed from the canvas. Painted and cutout plant growth was superimposed over the "window frame". The inspiration was a vine growing over the window of an old abandoned shed of a homestead on the Alberta Prairies. The cutout window allows the wall it hangs on to contribute an added dimension to the painting.
