I created this drawing to highlight what has become a universal phenomenon in today’s society, being connected to our cell phones while becoming completely disconnected to what is happening around us. I wanted to particularly point out the irony of this by having an assembly of eye-catching characters going completely unnoticed by each other as each person’s attention is totally absorbed by their personal digital device, oblivious to the world around them. I made the gradated background empty behind them to emphasize the stark reality of this sociological narrative.
