The pandemic has had a huge effect on our lives, dramatically changing interactions with family, friends, work, and the world. Despite the various online communication methods, the small “bubble” that became our lives resulted in a physical isolation difficult to navigate. Art became a creative outlet that kept life more “enjoyable” throughout these past three years. Exploration of bold colours, new techniques, and stepping out of my comfort zone, helped to ward off the pandemic blues. Platforms, such as the FCA, inspire creative growth, community, and self discovery as the world now concentrates on its recovery.

Alternative tools and techniques allow me to explore the nature of the paints. Their interactions and manipulations often lead to chaos: a necessary step in the process. From this chaos, more often than not, beauty rises triumphantly. The beauty of strength and fragility where one cannot exist without the other.
