"Blue Wilds" is an experimental piece that almost entirely uses a wide variety of blue hues. There is no singular light source; it's magic surreal lighting that comes from the subjects in the painting.

This piece incorporates familiar symbolism into a visual narrative, where there is tension between the cat and the nest. I sketched and painted every part of this piece from imagination so that it serves as a mindscape. Like a visual Rorschach, there can be multiple interpretations of the connection between them, and the intentions of the cat. My aim is for the viewer to project their own internal emotional experiences onto the relationship between the subjects, and to determine what each subject symbolizes to them.
