About the Artwork
I remember driving down this road and there was the summit above the clouds. We were scheduled to climb it in three days. Doubts crept in. I learned that clouds often circled the mountain's slopes, giving the appearance of a snow capped mountain floating on clouds. Two Austrian explorers were the first to see Kilimanjaro; on return to Europe they reported the discovery of a snow cap above the clouds. They were considered to be delusional, suffering from Malarial fevers.
