A historic maritime scene depicting the busy wharfs of Steveston BC, circa 1905. An old windjammer loaded with canned salmon is departing under tow at the beginning of a long voyage. Other sailing ships are still loading, while a river paddle steamer prepares to depart and other vessels including oar and sail powered salmon skiffs and a coastal schooner ply the river careful to avoid the flotsam carried downstream during the Spring high water.
