About the Artwork
There was a small zoo in Palm Desert. I saw a Cougar in a Pine tree. His enclosure was small. He looked sad and bored; at least, his food came easily. It is not easy to kill a deer and protect the carcass from scavengers for a week. There are few Cougars in the wild in California. Humans with dog packs and rifles killed most of them.
