This is a little resting area behind Robert Hope Pool in Port Coquitlam, BC. While walking my dog, I came upon this scene: tall trees, sun bursting through, shining down on a bench. It seemed so spiritual and inviting, I snapped a picture and stored away the feeling to paint later. I added the fellow in - a little artistic license. I hope whoever views this feels that same sense of appreciation for life's little things, wonder and peace that I felt then.

I find inspiration in my natural surroundings but forests, flowers and our feathered friends are my favourite subjects.
