About the Artwork

I paint with oil with rollers on aluminum panel that I mount on a gallery wood frame. Most artwork are semi-figurative and landscape since 2021.

My work aims to extract emotion via light and the essence of scenes borrowed from travel or a distant dream. The viewer is then carried away by their own experiences where the story becomes an allegory of their own experiences and aspirations.

This artwork was created in Mars 2023. This artwork is part of my solo exhibition "Horizon", where black border are added to the artwork to bring the gaze towards the aesthetics of the composition.

The title translates to "Sea of Winter Lights," a radiant glow of distant city lights, which cast a warm, vivid reflection over the cold and darkened terrain. Interspersed within this darkness are strokes and dabs of contrasting warm colours: amber, golden yellow, and soft whites representing a distant city's twinkling lights, offering warmth and a hint of activity amidst the serene desolation of the colder season.

My work aims to extract emotion via light and the essence of an imaginary scene borrowed from travel memories or a distant dream. The viewer is then carried away by his own experiences where the story told by the composition becomes an allegory of his own experiences and aspirations.

"My goal is to isolate the beauty of a scene in order to get to the essence and establish a deep connection with the viewer. Sometimes considered abstract, the artwork breaks away from established artistic styles to offer only a timeless and semi-figurative beauty."
