The concept of the "Deleted Story" originated in my mind in 2022, during a period when the world was gripped by a series of devastating events such as the war in Ukraine, the situation in Iran, and the earthquake in Turkey. These tragic occurrences all shared a common thread of forced displacement and the psychological impact it has on individuals. The painting I created revolves around this theme.


In the artwork, there is a woman who is preparing for her day, engrossed in the routine of doing her hair and carrying out other daily tasks. However, when she gazes into the mirror, the reflection staring back at her does not resemble the person she once was. This reflection symbolizes the loss of familiar habits and the disruption of a previous way of life. Everything she once held dear—her friends, her home, her career—has been left behind. Despite feeling like the same person internally, the reflection in the mirror represents a completely new individual, embarking on a fresh chapter in life.
